postsecret

I love spending evenings at a bookstore looking around at books. I think I love the atmosphere and the possibility inside. Michelle and I flipped through all the postsecret books, which I think are fascinating, to try to find a secret but no luck. Here's my 2 fav postsecrets today.

"My goal in life is to have crow's feet and deep laugh lines when I'm old"
I so want this to be true about my life.

"I look for examples everyday that prove there is more good than evil in the world. I always find them"

over.

This is right outside my apartment door and how I have walked to class everyday this semester. Usually more than once a day. And it is a long 15 minute walk to class, let me tell you. Here is where the boys soccer team was constantly practicing (I think they practice more than you could ever imagine), and where it was freezing and nine million degrees and had the dread of going to class and the relief of being done with class. Tomorrow morning will be the last time I ever walk to class from here to take my last final. Tonight was my last Thursday night social work class. I've had a social work class with the same professor, who I really like, every Thursday night for the past 3 semesters. And now I won't ever again. Isn't it weird when things like that are over?

late start

Every other Wednesday morning I meet with Hannah and Mackenzie at 7 at this exact Panera in this exact booth. We talk about real things and who we were created to be. Today we talked about living life to the full. For real. They are different. And I love their laughter and their desire to learn and their hearts.

God works

I love that God works and that God brings change and promises to keep doing so.

ootdh

Today was a big day.
1. I love lists.
2. We mulched to raise money for YL camp from 8-3:30 today. My back is killing me right now.
3. Mary Ellen and I went from mulching to the Out of the Dawg House concert for the 3rd year in a row. I love traditions.
4. I love Out of the Dawg House. I think this is from when they were singing Party in the USA. I'm not even kidding!

(See, his hands were up. You know...Put your hands up, they're playing my song....)
5. We ate at Broad Ripple Bagel, which is another thing I LOVE.
6. I fell asleep during the movie. At 9:30 on a Saturday. I can't stay awake during a movie for the life of me.

Bonus picture. Look at how weird the sky looked tonight!

ROLFcopter lolzzzz ha ha ha ha ha :D

4.22.2010

it is earth day, after all.

Today on my walk back from class I saw four sets of twins. It was almost more than my heart could handle.

I like to play games in my head, like trying to figure people out. I was talking about my professor this morning to Kaylee and said "What if she's married to a motorcycle guy who has a bunch of tattoos?" And I thought it was hilarious. I do this a lot actually.

I don't know why we let our recycling get like this, but we do. Every time. Maybe you can't tell, but its like a balancing act and every time something moves, it all comes crashing down.

skype

Every Wednesday I skype with my friend Caitlin. She lives in Texas which is entirely too far away and we have experiences that simply aren't explainable to other people. It's like we understand each other.

When I first got to Wilderness last summer, I had a really hard time and Caitlin was totally provided for me. I don't often experience (or maybe I just don't recognize) prayers answered immediately, but she was one. She was exactly what I needed. Actually everything about last summer was exactly what I needed.

living the dream

Fun fact about me: I listen to my new favorite song on repeat until I pretty much can't stand it.

Food fight at YL club tonight. Its like everyone's dream, right?

4.19.2010

my God is strong and deep

On Monday nights I go to leadership and then to campaigners. And every week I am excited about going. There's not very many things I am excited to do every single week.

Sometimes it's really frustrating. And sometimes I leave thinking that we talked about nothing important. But today, when I was sitting in a circle with 8 of my favorite high school girls, my heart felt full. And I was completely aware that there was no where else I would rather be.

4.18.2010

I HATE SCHOOL

90% of the time my room looks like this. A DISASTER. I don't like to be messy, but I just feel like there isn't a place for everything and I don't want to take the time to find a place and this is what I end up with.

I'm writing a paper due at midnight tomorrow that I just started. Its 8 pages long. I really, really, really hate school during finals week. It feels like right now I would do anything to get out of writing these papers. But instead I'll stop feeling sorry for myself and go write so that I can go lay down in my wonderful bed. And be thankful.

truth be told i miss you- and truth be told i'm lying

On my bucket list:
18. Learn to quilt. CHECK!

This was accomplished in one day (!!!!!) with so much help from Sarah Wright and her mom. And was so much fun!

WyldLife

Middle schoolers are LITTLE. What could be better than covering your face in peanut butter and having your teammates try to get fruit loops to stick?

4.15.2010

The beginning.

I want to start a blog. And I want to take pictures. Best of both worlds, right?

I want to take a picture a day and post it on here. I want to remember life through my camera, the little things, the things I'm apt to forget. And I don't want to study right now, so this is a good distraction.

This is my friend Michelle. I really like living life with her. I really like how our relationship has grown and changed. Basically I just really like her.
